This August of 2017 Providence Cultural Equity Initiative had the opportunity to travel to Mexico to officially kick off our international Cultural Ambassadorship initiative. There, PCEI met with representatives from the Illinois Dept of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and the National Commission for the Development of Indigenous Communities, gained insight on the valuable work they are involved in and initiated beneficial international relationships that will greatly support PCEI’s work.  Additionally, PCEI was able to identify key locations in both Mexico City and Michoacan that will serve as prime locations for our Mexico Tourism initiative, and also connect with the Morelia, Michoacan based Don Mateo Mezcal company to explore opportunities for increased distribution in the New England region .  The 2017 Mexico trip was quite productive, and laid some great groundwork for PCEI’s efforts moving forward.  Check out the gallery above to check out some of the great pictures from our visit.
